What’s new

For organizers ·

Your room, on your page.

Owners and organizers can now put up their own photo as the Castle’s cover, in place of one of our rooms. Your boards, your windows, your slightly wobbly table by the door.

A bright community hall with rows of chess boards, clocks and numbered table tents.

The short version

  • Upload a photo of your room in Castle details, beside the four rooms of ours
  • Slide Position to keep the boards in view when wide screens crop it
  • It shows on your Castle’s page, its cards and the picture a shared link shows
  • Replace it or remove it any time; a room of ours is still one tap away

Until now every Castle picked one of four rooms we photographed: a library, a café, a hall and a pub. They’re nice rooms. They’re just not your room, with your boards, your clock that runs a little fast and the coffee urn nobody admits to filling.

So now there’s a fifth choice. In Organize → Castle details, under Cover photo, tap Upload a photo. It goes up straight away and shows on your Castle’s page, on its card in the list and in the picture people see when someone shares your link.

Frame it

Wide screens crop a photo top and bottom, so there’s a Position slider: slide until the boards sit where you want them, and the previews follow. Save, and that’s the page.

What makes a good one

A photo of your room or your boards. Ask before showing anyone’s face, and never photos of children. Anyone can see a cover, so we’ll take down one that doesn’t fit those rules. Changed your mind? Replace it, remove it or pick one of our rooms, and the old photo is deleted. The privacy page says what we keep.
