The openings

Three for White, two for Black, each seven lines deep. Pick one and learn its first line today.

  • You're WhiteEasy to start

    1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4

    Aim at f7, then build slowly: c3, d3, castle, Re1.

  • You're WhiteEasy to start

    1.d4 d5 2.Bf4

    Get the bishop to f4 before e3 shuts it in, then build the c3–d4–e3 pyramid behind it.

  • You're WhiteSharp

    1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.f4

    Your f-pawn is the battering ram: f4, then take on e5 to kick the knight off f6.

  • You're BlackClub standard

    1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5

    Challenge the centre with …d5, backed up by the pawn on c6.

  • You're BlackClub standard

    1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6

    Hold d5 with a pawn, and let it go only when taking on c4 wins you time.

Your settings

When's your club night?

Castle Gambit will take this from your Castle's schedule once the trainer's past the prototype. For now it stays in this browser.

What’s kept

Your book lives in this browser, and only here. Nothing is sent to Castle Gambit, and clearing your browser’s data clears it too. For each line you’ve started it keeps:

  • its marks, and when it’s next due;
  • when you last ran it;
  • how many times you’ve run it from memory, and how many times it went back to its first mark;
  • which moves you’ve missed, and how often.

It also counts how many new lines you start each day (the last 30 days only), so the daily limit works.

Your settings are kept the same way, and nowhere else: club night, new lines a day, the board, whether the move box is open, whether sound is on, and the prototype’s pretend day. For this tab only (gone when you close it), it remembers which BOOKED stamps you’ve already seen land, so each lands once.

Nothing to clear yet.
