Every tournament starts from New tournament

Running it on paper and only want to know who's coming? New tournament now makes just a sign-up list. And the Gambits page tells its three buttons apart with a tap on ⓘ instead of a paragraph.

A bright community hall with rows of chess boards, clocks and numbered table tents.

The short version

  • New tournament asks: run it here, or just a sign-up list
  • A sign-up list: people accept it, you get the list, the night runs on paper
  • Post a gambit is for meetups and open games
  • Tap ⓘ beside the buttons for what each one makes

Some clubs run tournaments with pairings, standings and a QR code at the door. Some run them on a clipboard and just want to know how many boards to set out. Both start in the same place now: New tournament on your Castle’s Gambits page asks how it runs. Pick Run it here for the one screen and the QR code, or Just a sign-up list: give it a name and a time, people accept it, and its page lists who’s coming. The clipboard stays in charge.

That leaves Post a gambit for what it’s best at, meetups and open games. And if you ever forget which button does what, the little ⓘ beside them says so in three lines.
