The busy-night buttons, one tap away

We counted the taps for everything an organizer does on a packed night. The code, the TV and the TD console are now a tap from wherever you are.

A bright community hall with rows of chess boards, clocks and numbered table tents.

The short version

  • On a phone, a quick bar at the top of Tonight: the QR code, the TV view and the TD console
  • Jump straight to roster check-in, the TV note, or Keep it open another hour and Close the lobby
  • The TD console shows tonight's code, opens the TV view and goes back to Tonight
  • Open the TD console right from your Home page when your tournament is on

Thirty people in the room, a clock that won’t stop beeping and someone asking for the code again. That’s no time to scroll. So we ran a whole club night on a phone and counted every tap and every swipe.

Once people are in, Tonight now has a quick bar at the top on a phone. It holds tonight’s code, a big QR code to hold up at the door, the TV view and your TD console. Three more links take you straight down to checking in roster players, the TV note and closing time, which used to be three to seven screens down.

The TD console now shows tonight’s code too. Putting the TV up from the console takes one tap, not three, and Tonight’s panel takes you back to the room. When your tournament is on, Open the TD console sits right next to Run tonight on your Home page. Before you start, the console also says whether your club checks people in, and changing it is a tap away.
