The TD console, ready when you are
It opens whole on a phone, the first raised hand makes a sound, and a knockout you started a little early waits for one tap instead of a hunt.

The short version
- The console is on screen the moment the page is, even on venue Wi-Fi
- The first Call the TD of the night chimes, not just the second
- Started the knockout before opening the night? One big Start the first matches
- Home's Open the TD console shows before you press Start, check-in or not
- A TD for just the tournament sees its hands up and checks its players in
- "Can't take it back" and "still at a side game" now say who and what to do
A tournament night has a rhythm: doors, check-in, Start, the first boards, the first raised hand. We watched a few of them and found the places where the TD console made you wait or wander. Here’s what’s different.
It opens whole
Open the console from a link or the QR on your phone and the field, the rounds and the next step are there straight away, rather than a grey card that fills in a couple of seconds later. That’s the difference between glancing at it on the way to the door and standing still waiting for it.
The first hand up makes a sound
When a player taps Call the TD, the console chimes and (in the app) buzzes, and a screen reader says which board. That now includes the first hand of the night, which is the one that matters most. Hands already up when you open the console stay quiet: you can see them.
Started a knockout before opening the night?
Easy to do, and it used to leave everyone at empty boards while you looked for a small button. Now, once the night is open, the console says how many matches are waiting and gives you Start the first matches. It never starts them by itself: nights open three hours early, and nobody wants a clock running for a player who is still parking.
Smaller things, fixed
At a club that doesn’t check people in, Home’s Open the TD console is there before you press Start, not only after. If a helper is TD for just the tournament on a night another event opened, they now see that tournament’s hands up and results, and can check its players in, without getting the keys to the whole room. A round with a result already in no longer offers to be taken back (swap the pairing or record a forfeit instead), and a round held up by side games names who, and on which board. A night that opens later today says “today at 4 pm”, with a link to change the time if you’re starting sooner.
