What’s new

Your account ·

Pack up your pieces.

Settings can now hand you your account’s data as one file, or delete the account for good. If you go, the people you played keep their games.

Tall windows in a community hall, boards set up on long tables with table tents 2 and 5, wildflowers in a jar.

The short version

  • Download my data: your account’s data, as one file, a few times a day
  • Nothing in it about anyone else: your opponents are the names on your game history
  • Delete my account: for good, from Settings, after a fresh sign-in
  • Your opponents keep their games against you, under “Former player”
  • Your handle rests for 14 days before anyone else can take it
  • Own a Castle with members? Hand it over first. One with nobody else in it waits for its next owner

Some nights you stay for one more game. Some nights you pack up the pieces. Either way it’s your call, and now both live in Settings.

Take a copy

“Download my data” hands you your account’s data as one file: your profile, your games and rating history, your Castles and roles, the gambits you host and your replies to others, your crowns and stamps, linked accounts and puzzles. We make it when you tap and don’t keep a copy. Your opponents appear under the names on your game history, and nothing else about anyone else is in it. The file says what it leaves out, and why.

Or take your leave

“Delete my account” does what it says, for good, and first it shows you exactly what goes and what stays. Your sign-in, profile, photo, memberships, Club card and puzzles go, and so does what this browser kept for you, like the opening trainer’s book and your theme. Your games and club-night check-ins stay, for the people and Castles you played with, under “Former player”, so everyone else’s history still adds up. Your handle rests for 14 days before anyone else can take it, so nobody turns up wearing it the next morning. If you signed in more than 15 minutes ago, it asks you to sign in again first, just to be sure it’s you.

Own a Castle or an organization with other people in it? Hand it over first, so nobody turns up on club night to find no one in charge. Settings shows you where. One with nobody else in it doesn’t hold you up: it waits, lights off, for its next owner. The privacy page has every detail.
