What’s new

Castles ·

Lately, at your Castle.

Your Castle’s page and your Home now keep you up to date: new Gambits, new nights on the schedule, how last night went and whose standings are up. Counts, not gossip.

A quiet club hall between rounds: numbered boards set up on long tables, flowers on the nearest one.

The short version

  • Members get a new Lately list on their Castle’s page and on Home
  • New Gambits, new nights on the schedule, and “Standings are up” when a tournament finishes
  • Club nights and new members come as counts: “Tuesday’s night: 14 played, 22 games”
  • Following a Castle? Its public Gambits and new public nights land on your Home
  • Never a rating, a result or who was where

You missed Tuesday. Did anyone come? Is there a Swiss next month? Did the new folks stick? Until now that was a question for the group chat. Now it’s a glance.

On your Castle’s page

Members get a Lately list on the Castle’s page: Gambits posted (and called off), new nights on the schedule, how each club night went, how many people joined this week, and a link when a tournament’s standings are up. One week at a time, newest first, with “Show earlier” for the weeks before.

On your Home

The last week from all your Castles comes together on your Home. Follow a Castle you’re not in, and its public part shows up there too: Gambits posted for anyone and new public nights. Members-only things stay with the members.

Counts, not gossip

The only name you’ll see is a member’s on a Gambit they posted, and only other members see it. Everything else is a number. Nobody’s rating, nobody’s results, nothing about who played whom, who joined, who left, or where anyone is. If you’ve blocked someone, or they you, neither of you sees the other’s Gambits there. The privacy page has the details.
