The short version
- Start a Castle and run your first club night: the code, the poster, the TV, the door, results and the one argument
- Run a Swiss, a round robin or quads inside a club night, round by round
- Run a knockout: the draw, Armageddon, forfeits and the wall chart
- Keep the room safe: reports, removing someone, and what blocks do
- Share the work: co-organizers, helpers and organizations
Every club has one person who knows where the clocks live and how the app works. These guides are for the night that person is off with a cold.
Five guides, step by step
Your first club night goes from Start a Castle to the last handshake: tonight’s code and poster, the club TV, roster players at the door, Pair everyone, results, and settling the copies that don’t match. The Swiss guide and the knockout guide take a tournament night round by round and match by match. Keeping your club night safe covers reports, removing someone and what a block does (and doesn’t), and sharing the work covers co-organizers, helpers and organizations.
True on the night
Each step is the app’s own button, under the app’s own name, so what you read is what you’ll tap. Some tools (tournaments, house rules, the schedule and helpers) are still in early access, switched on Castle by Castle; the guides say so wherever it matters, and how to ask for them.
The guides are free for everyone, with no account, like the rest of our guides. The FAQ grew too: following a Castle, Lately, the weekly digest, blocking, reporting and installing the app are all answered there.
