What’s new

For organizers ·

Someone asked you something. Now you’ll see it.

When someone invites you to help run their organization, the invitation now finds you: at the top of your menu, as a small number on your picture, and on Home, where you can say yes or no thanks on the spot.

Club night among the library shelves: a table tent with a 2 between two boards, a chess clock and a blue pen on a scoresheet.

The short version

  • Your menu opens with “Waiting for your answer” while an invitation waits
  • A small number on your picture (and on the Menu button on a phone) says how many
  • Home shows the invitation itself, with Accept and No thanks
  • Say yes and Organizer tools is in your menu; say no and it’s gone

Organizations let a few people run a group of Castles together, and getting on the team starts with an invitation. Until now that invitation sat politely on the organizer tools page, a page you only find once you’re already organizing. Rather like leaving a note on the inside of a locked door.

Now it comes to you. While an invitation waits, your account menu opens with a yellow “Waiting for your answer” row that says what’s waiting, and your picture in the corner carries a small number. On a phone the Menu button carries it. Screen readers hear it in words: “1 invitation waiting”.

Home shows the invitation itself, right at the top: who asked, which organization, and the role. Accept, and Organizer tools appears in your menu. No thanks, and it’s gone, along with the number. Either way it’s the same card as on the organizer tools page, saying the same thing: if you say yes, the organization’s other staff see your name on its pages, its public page never shows people, and nothing changes at your own Castles.

It only counts things that need your answer. No bell, no feed, no “someone looked at your profile”.
