Tilt your phone, tilt your card

Your Club card hangs from a strap that goes all the way up now, clipped through a proper slot, and it leans with your mouse, with your tilt on most Android phones, or with a flick on any phone.

Club night among the library shelves: a table tent with a 2 between two boards, a chess clock and a blue pen on a scoresheet.

The short version

  • On your page the strap runs all the way up, like it's hanging from the ceiling
  • A real slot punched through the card, with the clip hooked through it
  • On a laptop the card leans toward your mouse and lifts off the page
  • On a phone it follows your tilt, where your phone shares it without asking. Anywhere else, give it a flick

Your Club card got heavier, in the good way. On your page the strap now runs all the way to the top, the clip hooks through a slot punched right through the card, and the card has the thickness of something you could actually wear to a club night.

Lean in

Move your mouse over it and the card turns toward you from its clip and lifts off the page. On a phone it follows your tilt instead, where your phone shares its motion without asking (most Android phones); we only use it to turn the card, and nothing about it leaves your phone. iPhones ask first, so rather than ask, the card lets you take hold of it: drag it sideways or give it a flick (more in Give your card a flick).

If you’ve asked your phone or computer for less motion, the card stays still. It’s still a very nice card.
