Give your card a flick

Your Club card's strap moves with the card now, like the real thing. And on any phone you can take hold of the card, swing it on its strap and let it go.

A wooden board mid-game in a café, an analogue chess clock behind it and a speckled mug beside a player’s sleeve, more boards on the next table.

The short version

  • The strap bends and trails behind the card as it moves, and never comes off the clip
  • Drag the card sideways and it swings on its strap; flick it and it keeps swinging for a bit
  • Works on every phone, with nothing to allow first
  • Scrolling past it scrolls the page, and a tap on your Castle's name still takes you there

Your Club card’s strap used to stay put while the card did all the moving, which is not how straps work. Now it’s more like webbing: it bends as the card sways, trails a beat behind it, and stays in the clip whatever you do. A quick pass of your mouse across the card sets the whole thing swinging.

Go on, flick it

On a phone, put your finger on the card and drag it sideways. It swings from its clip and follows you, and the further you pull, the more it pulls back. Let go gently and it settles. Flick it and it swings through a few times before it hangs still again, the way your badge does when you stand up too fast. A mouse can do the same: press, drag, let go.

There’s nothing to allow first, on any phone. It only takes hold of a sideways drag, so swiping up or down past the card scrolls the page as before, and tapping your Castle’s name on it still takes you there.

If you’ve asked your phone or computer for less motion, the card hangs still and stays out of your way. No amount of flicking will change its mind.
