Castles ·
A Castle’s page, now with a board on the table.
On a laptop or a tablet, a Castle’s photo now runs the width of the screen and fades into a board drawn in ballpoint, where a knight turns to see what you’re pointing at.

The short version
- The club’s photo runs the width of the screen and fades into the page
- The next club night, highlighted: tonight, tomorrow, or the day
- A board drawn beside the name, with a knight that turns to face your pointer
- On a phone, the page you know: the photo, and the name card over it
On a phone, yesterday’s Castle pages looked right. On a laptop or a tablet, the name card floated over the photo, a little narrower than everything under it, with an empty corner nobody was using. So we cleared the table.
Now the club’s photo runs the width of the screen and fades into the page. Under it, the name, when it plays and what you can do there sit straight on the paper, lined up with the gambits below. Under the club’s regular nights, the next one is highlighted, the way you’d mark it on a flyer: tonight, tomorrow, or the day.
Beside them lies a board, drawn in ballpoint, with a knight on d4. Point anywhere on the top of the page and the knight hops round to face the square nearest your pointer. It looks round once when the page opens, then waits for you. A Castle without a photo gets the board as its picture.
On a phone, it’s the page you know: the photo, with the name card over its foot.
