Notation

Nf3, exd5, O-O: the short sentences every game is written in. You'll be able to: read and write moves.

Arrow keys move between squares; up is towards your opponent. Enter or Space picks a piece up and puts it down. Escape puts it back.

Every move has a short name: the piece's letter, then the square it lands on. Nf3 means a knight goes to f3. Try it.
