Every club has one: the person who unlocks the door, sets out the boards and somehow keeps the whole pairing sheet in their head. This one’s for them.
Open the room
Tap Open tonight’s lobby and you get a six-character join code and a printable poster with a QR code on it. Tape it to the door or put it up on the club TV. Players scan it and they’re in: nothing to install, and no account needed for a first game.
See the whole night
Your panel shows who’s here, who’s waiting and who’s playing on which board. Someone slipped out without saying goodbye? Take them out of tonight’s lobby. Last month’s poster still on the notice board? Get a new code, and everyone already checked in stays checked in.
Pair everyone at once
Most nights, Castle Gambit pairs people as they arrive. Running something more structured? Pair everyone shows you every board before you commit, so a round starts with one tap.
Not everyone has a phone
The regular who is proudly still on a flip phone, the one whose battery gave up at 7:02: put them on your roster with just a name. You check them in and out; they just play.
Mistakes happen
Entered a result wrong? Fix it or void it, and every rating it touched is worked out again as if it had been right all along. If two players remember a game differently, it lands on your panel to settle. (Just not your own games. Nice try.)
When the night’s over, close the lobby. Forget, and it closes itself.
