About
Atlanta Checkmate Club is a modern speakeasy for chess: people, music and culture, brought together over the board.
It started in 2021, when Seth brought a chess board to a few Atlanta bars to play with friends, and strangers kept asking to join. It's been growing ever since.
Good vibes. A different spot around Atlanta each night. We post the week's venues every Sunday. Good people. The best part. A genuinely mixed crowd from all walks of life, and everyone's welcome. Good chess. Casual games and tournaments for every level, including first-timers who just learned how the knight moves.
We usually meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights. Public chess nights are free, with no food or drink minimum, and parking is usually free (never more than $5). We bring the boards and clocks; you bring yourself.
